Edward Bernays, the guy who basically invented modern propaganda in the 1920s, said:

"A certain stimulus often repeated would create a habit. The mere reiteration of an idea would create a conviction."

Aka repetition creates conviction.

Conviction creates identity.

Identity creates the cult-like following every founder secretly wants and almost none of them know how to engineer.

It starts by picking a phrase that captures what you stand for. Repeat it every chance you get, in every post, every conversation, every sales call. Now prospects walk into calls already telling me they want to become a micro-authority. They picked up the language. They adopted the worldview. They sold themselves before I said a word.

I gave them language that convinced them on my behalf.

The memetic has to do 3 things to work:

  1. It has to mean something specific. "Quality content" isn't a memetic. It's a phrase. "Become a Micro-Authority" is loaded because it implies an entire worldview about what's wrong with the influencer economy and what the alternative looks like.

  2. It has to be repeatable. If it sounds clever once and tired the second time you hear it, it's not a memetic. It's a line. A real memetic builds more conviction every time it's said.

  3. It has to belong to the in-group. The right people get it instantly. The wrong people don't get it at all. That asymmetry is the entire point. The phrase becomes a flag the in-group rallies behind, and the in-group becomes your audience for everything else you ever do.

Here's the blueprint to follow to build out the most MAGNETIC personal brand on X:

  1. Pick one phrase. Something that captures the worldview you want the market to associate with your name.

  2. Test 2-3 candidates over the next 14 days.

  3. Once one starts to stick, double down. Use it in every post that makes sense. Repeat it until you're sick of it, then repeat it 100 more times.

  4. Somewhere in month 4, prospects will start using it back to you. That's when you know it's working.

The founders who never figure this out spend years trying to "build their audience" and end up with a list of strangers who happen to follow them.

Build a group of people who don't just like your content, but identify with what it stands for.
