Your channels are working against each other
Same offer, same minute, two places to opt out.

At 9:00am on Black Friday your customer gets your email.
At 9:00am they also get your text.
Both carry the offer. Both push the same code to the same page.
From the inside this looks like coverage
✅Hit every channel
✅Nobody misses the announcement
✅Calendar says both boxes are ticked.
But to anyone on the receiving end, it reads as one brand saying the same thing twice and the customer resolves it by cutting one of the channels off.
Usually SMS goes first, because it's the one that (sometimes) costs money to receive and the one that interrupts. (It’s also the more expensive list to rebuild)
The reason this happens is structural.
Email and SMS get planned as two separate calendars by two people who don't check each other's work. Nobody sat down and decided both should land at once. It's what happens when nobody decides anything at all.
The fix is a job for each channel rather than a duplicate of one.
→ Email announces. It carries the detail, the code, the products, the terms. It's the thing people go back and search for when they want to find the code again.
→ SMS does the thing email is bad at. Timing. Your early-access code stops working the moment the public sale opens, and a text two hours later is how people find that out while they can still act on it.
Our proud partner Omnisend now runs inside Claude and ChatGPT, live in Anthropic's Connector Directory since July 30, so your account data connects straight to the AI and building that sequence is one instruction:
"On 'BFCM Early Access Welcome,' add a two-hour delay and then an SMS after the current email. Send SMS only to SMS-subscribed contacts. SMS copy should remind them their early-access code expires once the public sale opens, and include the discount code."
Two-hour delay, SMS subscribers only, different message from the email.
Fix that before you build anything new for November.
Send the same message twice and you've given people two places to unsubscribe.

P.S. Omnisend runs email and SMS on one platform, so the two channels can actually see each other. If you're moving before Q4, migration is five days, free on any paid account.
